Biography
I am a chemistry major and am currently doing cancer research with Dr. Edwin Lewis. My work in the lab includes titrating samples with drugs and conducting experiments on DNA samples. I also work on campus as a student assistant for the Associate Vice President for Student Life. In my free time I'm involved with my church and enjoy going to the movies and hiking.
Why did you choose to attend Northern Arizona University?
My sister attended here and she really enjoyed it. I visited here and really like the campus. After hearing about her experiences, I decided to attend.
What do you like best about Northern Arizona University?
I like the fact that the class sizes are smaller. Even my lecture classes are smaller than my friends lecture classes at other universities. I feel like I'm a person here, not a number.
What advice would you give a prospective student?
If you think you might like to live somewhere else than where you do now, pick a school that is located in a place you may want to live after college. Also, find a university that offers the program that you are interested in and the services that will help you while in school.
What do you do for fun on the weekends?
In my free time, I go to the movies or take a hike on one of the trails on campus our around town. I'm also very involved in my church.
Describe the best professor you've had here and explain why.
Dr. Ingram teaches chemistry and is also my academic advisor. She is down to earth and will talk about her family and relate class topics to the outside world. You can tell chemistry is her passion but she also has a life that is not all about chemistry.
