Biography
My passion is teaching and working with children is my life's joy. I am a member of the Kappa Delta Phi, and educational society. I made the Dean's List Fall and Spring of 2004-2005. I am really into crafts like jewelry making and I like to hang out on campus and enjoy the surrounding forest areas.
Why did you choose to attend Northern Arizona University?
Since I wanted to teach I knew that Northern Arizona University has one of the best teacher education programs in the state. The faculty are known in their field, so I'm learning from some of the best. I also liked the idea of studying in an atmosphere of pine trees and a four-season climate. That is a nice change from the desert of Scottsdale.
What do you like best about Northern Arizona University?
I like the personal care you get from the faculty and staff here. My professors know me by name and are always available to answer questions. They are truly interested in my progress and success as a student. I also like the fact that the campus is so beautiful. Since my arrival in 2004, I still find a view that takes my breath away.
What advice would you give a prospective student?
Attend college with an open mind and be ready and willing to have new experiences. The campus is so diverse with different people, cultures, and ideas. Don't let the opportunity to learn pass you by.
What do you do for fun on the weekends?
When I'm not doing homework, I have tons of fun doing crafts with a group of friends in my dorm. Whatever I am interested in, I don't have a hard time meeting people with the same interests. Student Life also puts on some cool events during the weekend like After Dark at the Union and movies at the Prochnow Auditorium. I also enjoy hiking and camping.
Describe what it is like living on campus.
I like living on campus. Everything is close and convenient. There is always something going on that people that live off campus miss. Residence Life has some great programs that get you involved in the campus community so you can meet new people. If you need a little privacy you can get that too, but I don't feel alone or isolated. My first roommate and I still are good friends and probably will keep in touch after graduation.
