  • Confer with counselor on choice of colleges or universities
  • Attend College Night presentations

November

  • Attend area College Fairs
  • Consult college reference books in student services office and library
  • Request information from colleges
  • Secure additional information from student services, high school guidance offices and the internet.

 December/January 

  • For preliminary information on financial aid, explore websites such as:  www.collegequest.com and www.fastweb.com
  • Use the PSAT/NMSQT score report for college planning
  • Determine a list of schools you should visit over the spring and summer months.

February/March

  • Register for May SAT I
  • Register for April ACT
  • Investigate college admissions testing preparation programs
  • Enroll in college preparatory program - a minimum of four or five academic courses is recommended during senior year of high school
  • Develop a preliminary list of colleges that interest you

April

  • Review college admission requirements
  • Initiate program for appointments to U.S. military academies and/or ROTC scholarships, i.e Congressional nominations, medical and physical examinations, ACT or SAT I tests
  • Register for June SAT I
  • Register for June ACT

May

  • Consider participation in summer programs, i.e. debate camp, foreign exchange program, science seminar
  • Organize college information you have received
  • Take May SAT I for competitive out-of-state colleges

June

  • Take June ACT or SAT I
