- Continue to review plans with parents.
- Be aware of college/scholarship application deadline
- Register for October ACT for optional retake or first time
- Register for November SAT I for optional retake or first time if required by your college
- Request college admission materials - i.e. catalogs, applications, and financial aid information
- Use web-based scholarship search services and financial aid guides to become aware of scholarships
- Make sure your course selections meet the high school graduation requirements and for colleges you wish to attend
- Investigate college admission testing preparation programs

- Initiate individual conferences with counselor
- Attend College Night programs
- Attend area College Fairs
- Take October ACT
- Register for December SAT I
- Register for December ACT
- Give forms to people who will be writing letters of recommendation for you. (not required for admissions but may be required for scholarships or special programs)

- Finalize selection of competitive schools
- Register for January SAT I
- Take December ACT
- Take December SAT I
- Attend district financial aid meeting
- Note deadlines for submitting applications for admission and/or financial aid
- Obtain a financial aid form from the student services office
- Use web-based scholarship search services and financial aid guides to become aware of scholarships

- Request seventh semester transcript (and mid-year report, if applicable), be sent to competitive colleges
- Continue to pursue scholarship possibilities
- Take January SAT I
- File the free Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Make sure all recommendations, transcripts, and test scores have been sent to each college

February/ March |
- Register for Advanced Placement Examinations of CEEB (optional)
- Priority dates for submitting financial aid applications occur most frequently during February/March.
- Check for priority dates with each school to which you have applied.

April |
- Inform selected college of your acceptance and intent to enroll in writing.
- Notify in writing other colleges to which you have applied that you wish to withdraw your application.
- Inform your counselor of scholarships and other awards that you are accepting.

May |
- Send an official final transcript to your college of choice
