Congratulations on your offer of admission for Spring 2010!

Use this check list to make sure your complete all the necessary steps to prepare for your arrival to campus.

STEP 1

SUBMIT YOUR ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT TO ACCEPT YOUR OFFER OF ADMISSION

To reserve your space in the incoming class and to hold a place for your at New Student Orientation, a $300 enrollment deposit is due by December 1st. This deposit includes a $100 housing fee and $200 enrollment deposit. 

Once you submit your housing application, the $100 portion is non-refundable. If you do not complete a housing application, $100 will be credited to your student account.

The remaining $200 is your enrollment deposit and it is refundable until December 1, 2009.

You may pay in one of the following ways:

  1. Online Payment: Log-on to LOUIE at nau.edu/louie with your User ID (provided on the front of your offer letter).  Go to Finances > Make A Payment. You may use a credit card (MasterCard or Visa) or e-check. If you have questions about your log-in and password, please click on “Log-in Problems?” when you visit nau.edu/louie.
  2. Telephone Payment: Call 1-928-523-1122 and use your credit card to pay your deposit over the telephone.
  3. Mail Payment: You may mail your $300 by check, made payable to Northern Arizona University, to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Box 4084, Flagstaff, AZ 86011. Please include your name and NAUID (found on your offer letter) on your check.
  4. Drop off your payment to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in the North Union the next time you are on campus.

If you will not be attending Northern Arizona University, please go online and decline your offer of admission at nau.edu/declinemyoffer. Please note that the enrollment deposit is non-refundable after December 1, 2009.

STEP 2

APPLY FOR ON-CAMPUS HOUSING

If you plan to live on campus, you must apply by May 1 for priority consideration.

Applications are available to submit online. Visit the Residence Life page to download and print a paper application using Adobe Acrobat Reader. 

Please note housing is not guaranteed. We encourage you to apply early.

STEP 3

SELECT YOUR NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION SESSION

You can select your Orientation Session online or by calling the Office Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation at 928-523-0632 or emailing Orientation@nau.edu. You will receive a confirmation when we receive your enrollment deposit and orientation session selection.

Family members are welcome and encouraged to attend orientation for a minimal cost. Please register your guests when completing your orientation session selection or by contacting the Office Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation at 928-523-0632.

You may download and mail your request for an Orientation date to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation, Box 4082, Flagstaff, AZ 86011-4082

STEP 4

APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

Please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov and list Northern Arizona University as a recipient of the information. Our institution code is 001082. The FAFSA should be filed as soon as possible. Dates to remember and information about the filing process are on line at nau.edu/finaid. If you have questions, please call the Office of Financial Aid at 928-523-4951 or email at Financial.Aid@nau.edu.

STEP 5

VERIFY YOUR RESIDENCY STATUS

The state of Arizona requires us to document that each student receiving benefits from state monies, including in-state tuition, is lawfully in this country. If you have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), with rare exceptions, you will NOT have to provide documentation of lawful presence. If you have not filed the FAFSA you will need to provide documentation. For more information on what documentation is required and how to submit your documentation, visit nau.edu/residency.

STEP 6

SEND EVIDENCE OF IMMUNIZATIONS

The state of Arizona also requires verification of measles (rubeola) vaccination for all students. Documentation must show proof of: two measles (rubeola) vaccinations after your first birthday, at least 28 days apart; OR signed documentation by a physician of measles (rubeola) disease or documentation of measles (rubeola) titer showing immunity. Please visit nau.edu/immunization for more details.

This information may be listed on your high school transcript. If it is not listed on your high school transcript, please download the Immunization Form created for your convenience.

Include your full name and NAU ID number (found on your offer letter) when you mail your evidence. You also may fax the documentation to 928-523-1102.

STEP 7

SIGN UP FOR PLACEMENT TESTING

Placement exams and CLEP (College Level Examination Program) tests are available at Freshman Orientation in June, July and August and Monday - Friday throughout the year. To determine the need to take any exams and to register to take exams at Orientation, please visit nau.edu/testing or call 928-523-2261.

STEP 8

REVIEW THE FERPA RELEASE FORM

As a community, we strive to facilitate student success through direct communication with the student. However, if you want the university to share your education record information with authorized third parties upon their request, you must give authorization by completing the release form. Please visit nau.edu/studentrecords to review the information and download the form, or call 928-523-2109. If you choose to complete the form, please mail it to the Office of the Registrar at the address listed on the form.

STEP 9

SUBMIT YOUR FINAL TRANSCRIPTS

After high school graduation, or completion of your college courses please request that your final transcript be sent to Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation, NAU Box 4084, Flagstaff, AZ 86011.
