About Meagan
Meagan is a Lumberjack through and through.  She moved to Flagstaff from Southern California in 1997 and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2001.

After completing her student teaching on an army base in Vilseck, Germany, Meagan returned to the States and began teaching junior high math and science. While teaching, she returned to NAU and completed her Master’s degree in Special Eduacation in 2004.

Although she enjoyed working with her students, Meagan realized that the university was where she belonged professionally and she has been working for Undergraduate Admissions ever since.

What Matters to You? Having the opportunity to work with students and families and guide them through the admissions process.

Tips for high school juniors and seniors: Make sure that your class schedules are aligning with the admissions requirements; Meet with your high school counselor or talk to you admissions counselor to make sure you are on track and Do not succumb to Senioritis!

Tips for Transfer Students: Take a lot of liberal studies classes (Math, English, Science) even if you know what your major is going to be because they are easier to transfer.

Best Tip for Getting Involved on Campus: Live in a freshman connection residence hall; Don’t be afraid to try new things; Do things that you enjoy.

Advice I Wish I'd Gotten or Paid Attention to Before College: Be open to anything.  Don’t let preconceived notions deter you from learning about something on your own.

Why you should consider NAU?  The small classes and the individual attention.
