About GabrielaGabriela was relocated to Tucson, Arizona during her grammar school years. In 2001, she moved to Flagstaff, and has since considered herself to be Flagstaff’s number one fan.
She completed her Bachelor’s degree through NAU’s top ranked School of Hotel and Restaurant Management and is working toward a Master’s degree in Career and Technical Education.
After spending a year studying abroad in the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy, Gabriela is excited to share with students the opportunities available through the International Program at NAU.
Gabriela looks forward to welcoming you to the gorgeous vistas and Ponderosa Pine forests of Flagstaff.
What Matters to You? What matters to me is that NAU offers a variety of career and educational opportunities with prompt, personalized staff in a beautiful environmental setting.
Best Tips for High School Juniors and Seniors: START EARLY! Do NOT wait until the semester is about to begin to get transcripts and your application in.
Best Tips for Transfer Students: Attend New Student Orientation. Even if you have friends here already, it’s good to know about the different programs NAU has to offer. They might not be aware of the new clubs or programs that are going on and you might not either if you don’t attend orientation. We aren’t going to tell you what life is like as a college student, we know you’re already one!!
Best Tip for Getting Involved on Campus: Don’t join clubs that your friends like, get involved in something YOU really like. There are many other people who love the same things as you. Meeting and getting to be friends with those people enriches your college experience and your personal growth.
The Advice I Wish I'd Gotten or Paid Attention to Before College: College can be free!! Search search search for scholarships. There are thousands and it’s worth the time and the essay writing to get them. Loans are the easy way to go, but trust me, it’s worth it to put in the work for a free education.
Why I think you should consider NAU: This university has a great energy. It’s located in a beautiful city, with gorgeous natural surroundings. This makes people happy, and happiness is contagious. It’s so nice to attend class with friendly people!
