Applying to attend our university as an Undergraduate Student is easy using our online application.  There is a $25 non-refundable application fee which you can pay using a major credit card or an electronic check from a US bank.  Using our secured server, your credit card and application information is safe.

Follow these easy steps to complete the application process:

Step 1: Create your account

Click on the appropriate link to create your account to begin your application.

If you are an international student, please visit the Center for International Education for important information and application procedures.

If you were a student who previously attended the university and would like to return, please complete the Application for Readmission (Undergraduate) (PDF).

* Please note: You may need to submit a separate application to the college or department sponsoring your degree program. Check the department website to find information for your major.

If you do not have a major credit or debit card, you may print the application and mail it along with a check or money order drawn on a US bank in the amount of the appropriate application fee.   You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDF files. Step 2: Complete, pay the application fee and submit your application

Once you have submitted the application online you will receive an email acknowledging that your application has been submitted to the university.

Step 3: Submit Official Transcripts

Be sure to have an official copy of your transcripts and test scores sent to us.  Official copies must be sent in a sealed envelope directly from your high school and/or community college. NON-DEGREE SEEKING

No transcripts are required.  Students admitted part-time may enroll in six (6) credit hours or less, and may be limited in the course selection based on prerequisite requirements. The university may not accept more than 15 credit hours earned while enrolled in this status. Financial aid is not available to students who attend part-time in non-degree seeking status.

Step 4: Submit Official ACT and/or SAT Scores

These scores are not required for admissions purposes but are required for scholarship consideration and invitations to special programs like the Honors Program. We recommend students take both or either test in the spring of their junior year and again in the fall of the senior year.

When you register to take either the ACT or SAT exams, be sure to indicate you want a copy of your scores sent to us. 

Our school codes for the ACT  is: 0086 and SAT is: 4006.  Test scores posted to your official high school transcript are also accepted.

Step 5: Admissions Decision

A letter will be mailed by regular mail to you confirming that your application for admission to the university has been received. Enclosed with this letter, you will receive your NAU Student ID number as well as login information and instructions to access your Louie account to check on the status of your application.

Once your application is complete it will take an average of 7-10 business days for your application to be reviewed and decision made. Please note during peak application times, this period will be longer. We encourage your to access your Louie account often to check on the status of your application.

Step 6: Complete the FAFSA

Although not a requirement for admission, we recommend that you complete the Free Application for Student Financial Aid. This application helps you find out what federal and/or state aid you may be eligible to assist with the financing of your education.

 

In accordance with Arizona law, any person who is a citizen or legal resident of the US or who is lawfully present in the US may be eligible for specified financial aid from the university.  Arizona law classifies any person who is a US citizen or who has lawful immigration status and is an Arizona resident as an in-state student for tuition purposes.
